Clubs & Groups
Lake Barcroft has numerous clubs and other organizations of special interests.
Barcrofters is a social club open to all women in Lake Barcroft. Ten events are held annually, either themed luncheons or evening parties scheduled so that husbands and career women may participate.
Lake Barcroft Boat Sharing Program: This new program facilitates the borrowing of small boats among neighbors. With 21 boats available and 56 participating households, we have plenty of room for growth. The program is FREE and you don’t need to own a boat to participate. You simply can go to the website (click the link above) and sign up by clicking the “Sign Member Agreement” button at the bottom of the webpage. This program makes a variety of different boats available for use on the lake, such as canoes, kayaks, youth kayaks, paddleboards and jon boats. The program allows participants to host friends and family and try out different boating options. If you have any questions about this program and how to join, contact John Shapard at johnshapard@gmail.com.

The Lake Barcroft Anti-Racist Book Club focuses specifically on learning from books and combating racism. Much of what we learn will be uncomfortable and may feel personal. That is the nature of the work. As a group, we will strive to support one another and not make judgments or accusations. There is no expectation of any type of activism in this group. Each of us individually can decide what to do with our new knowledge. We hope you will engage with us! The work is challenging, but change is never easy. We communicate via Google Group. Please email elainemulligan9@gmail.com to be added to the group.
The Celebrating Diversity Group: The Celebrating Diversity group is organized to promote our community as welcoming, safe, and inclusive for all. We work with the community at large, the Lake Barcroft Association, The Newcomers’ Club, and other groups to identify and respond to concerns related to bias, racial or ethic insensitivity and to build a strong, welcoming neighborhood. We listen to the stories of those who may be experiencing our community in a way different from others, confront bias when we recognize it and reach out to all to build a community reflective of inclusivity and kindness. We have formed seven committees and welcome you to join us. Please contact hollyhazard@gmail.com
